Polished marble maximises depth and luminosity for formal interiors, but shows scratches and needs regular care. Honed marble offers a consistent matte look that is more forgiving in high-traffic areas and bathrooms, while brushed and tumbled finishes add texture for Mediterranean or natural-style interiors.

For wet areas such as showers and pool surrounds, always select a honed, brushed or textured finish rather than polished. Because natural stone varies between quarry batches, order at least 10% extra to allow for cuts, breakages and future repairs — our team can help with accurate area calculations and stock reservation.
Yes, provided you choose the correct finish. Honed or brushed marble offers adequate slip resistance for bathroom floors and wet rooms; polished marble is better reserved for walls or low-traffic dry areas. All marble in wet applications should be sealed with a penetrating stone sealer on installation and resealed annually.
Marble is an excellent conductor of heat, making it highly compatible with underfloor heating. Use a flexible adhesive rated for UFH and commission the system slowly over several days before regular use, avoiding rapid temperature changes that can stress the stone.
Clean regularly with a pH-neutral stone cleaner and a soft cloth or mop. Avoid acidic cleaners — vinegar, lemon-based and many general-purpose products will etch the surface. Blot spills immediately and re-seal every 12–24 months depending on traffic.
Use a white, polymer-modified adhesive formulated for natural stone. Avoid grey adhesives on light or translucent marbles, as they can bleed through. For large-format tiles a full-bed application is essential, and in wet areas a waterproof adhesive is strongly recommended.
Yes. We strongly encourage ordering samples before committing to a full quantity. Natural marble varies in veining and tone between batches, so a physical sample lets you assess the stone accurately under your own site conditions. Contact our team to arrange samples.
